Refuge Victoria is seeking a Housing and Tenancy Worker to join the Looking Ahead Program, an integrated rapid housing and recovery initiative supporting victim survivors from crisis accommodation into safe, sustainable housing and longer-term recovery.

This full-time role is based at Melbourne Head Office with outreach across Western, Inner Eastern and Southern Melbourne and involves an 18–24-month recovery journey.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three years’ housing and tenancy experience, including work with people experiencing family violence, homelessness or complex social needs.
• Qualification via one of Refuge Victoria’s pathways: Bachelor of Social Work or equivalent, or relevant professional experience.
• Training in family violence, housing or trauma-informed approaches is highly regarded.

Responsabilités

• Provide tenancy coaching and ongoing support to build skills and financial capability for safe, stable housing.
• Collaborate with practitioners to reflect safety planning and respond to tenancy risks.
• Help clients understand housing costs, brokerage eligibility, and move-in arrangements.
• Promote client voice through culturally safe, accessible housing support.
• Build relationships with housing providers and real estate professionals to improve access.
• Respond early to tenancy risks and coordinate security measures as needed.
• Maintain accurate client records and contribute to program outcomes.
