Job summary

Churches of Christ Kenmore, QLD, is seeking a Housing Support Worker to assist individuals and families experiencing or at risk of homelessness. Based at the Kenmore Head Office, the role supports safe accommodation, tenancy sustainment and client independence, in a welcoming, down-to-earth culture.

You will deliver personalised case management, budgeting support, and advocacy while working with community services and partner organisations.

Qualifications

• Qualifications in Social Work, Psychology, Social Sciences, Community Services or related field.
• Experience in housing, homelessness, family support, mental health, or related services.
• Strong communication and ability to build relationships with diverse backgrounds.
• Current Driver's Licence.
• Intermediate computer/MS Office skills.
• National Police Check and Blue Card (or willingness to obtain).

Responsibilities

• Provide personalised case management and support plans.
• Help clients sustain tenancy skills and confidence.
• Assist with budgeting, advocacy, and connecting clients with community services.
• Conduct assessments and identify risks and support needs.

Housing Support Worker Kenmore QLD, Australia

At Churches of Christ, we believe safe and secure housing creates stronger communities. As a Housing Support Worker based at our Kenmore Head Office, you'll support individuals and families who are experiencing homelessness or are at risk of losing their housing. This is a rewarding role where you'll help clients access safe accommodation, strengthen their independence, and sustain long-term tenancy outcomes.

What you'll be doing:

• Supporting people through personalised case management and support plans
• Helping clients build the skills and confidence to sustain their tenancy
• Assisting with budgeting, advocacy, and connecting clients with community services
• Conducting assessments and identifying risks and support needs
• Working closely with partner organisations to achieve the best outcomes for clients
• Maintaining accurate records and reporting requirements

About you:

• Qualifications in Social Work, Psychology, Social Sciences, Community Services or a related field – or equivalent work experience
• Experience in housing, homelessness, family support, mental health, domestic and family violence, child and family services, or a similar community services setting.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships and trust with people from diverse backgrounds
• A practical, strengths-based approach to supporting people through complex challenges
• A current Driver's Licence
• Intermediate computer / Microsoft Office skills
• National Police Check and Blue Card (or willingness to obtain)
