Mind Australia in Traralgon is seeking a Site Co-ordinator for a fixed-term part-time role (28.5 hours per week) to lead day-to-day management and support for the Psychosocial Disability Support Workers within the Housing with Support program.

You will supervise staff, develop group programs, coordinate recruitment with the Area Manager, and ensure care aligns with participant plans while managing risks and incidents as they arise.

Qualifications

• Certificate IV in Mental Health or related field is required.
• Experience in Community Services, Mental Health, Disability, or housing sectors preferred.
• Knowledge of NDIS and connecting participants with services.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

About the Service

The Housing with Support program is a service designed for adults living with severe and enduring psychosocial disability and co-occurring concerns and/or dual disabilities which have impacted their capacity to live independently in the community.

Participants are supported individually and in a group setting to better understand and develop strategies to manage the impacts of their mental health, enhance personal and daily living skills, create meaningful social and community connections, strengthen relationships with families and friends, and build confidence and capacity to live independently.

About the role

We are seeking an approachable, mentoring and calm under pressure Site Co-ordinator for a fixed term part time (28.5 hours per week) opportunity in the Traralgon area. You will take a lead role in the day-to-day management of the site, ensuring Support Workers have the information and direction to undertake the required support at the right time with the participants in line with their support plans across the week.

Key responsibilities

• Coach, motivate and provide informal and formal supervision to onsite Psychosocial Disability Support Workers. Facilitate regular team meetings and foster a healthy, positive team culture.
• Maintain effective communication across the team to support smooth shift operations and continuity of care.
• Develop, facilitate, and evaluate group programs that support participants’ recovery, wellbeing, skill development, and capacity building.
• Support the Area Manager with site-based recruitment and induction of Psychosocial Disability Support Workers.
• Escalate concerns, risks, incidents, or matters to the Area Manager promptly.

What you’ll bring

• Tertiary qualifications (minimum Certificate IV) in Mental Health, Peer Work, Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy or other health related field as designated by Mind.
• Proven experience in Community Services, Mental Health, Disability, Social Welfare, Housing, Healthcare or Government sectors is required.
• Demonstrated experience supporting people with psychosocial disability and complex needs, with strong knowledge of the NDIS and the ability to connect participants, families, and carers with appropriate community services and supports.
• Skills and experience in advocacy, collaboration, facilitation, evaluation and problem solving.
• High level organisational skills with demonstrated ability to prioritise, manage multiple complex tasks concurrently, work under pressure and meet deadlines.
