Job summary

Mind Australia is seeking a Site Co-ordinator for the Housing with Support program, based in Wonthaggi. Part-time, 28.5 hours per week, until June 2027, focusing on leading daily site operations and guiding Support Workers.

You will support participants with psychosocial needs, coordinate care plans, and foster collaboration with the Area Manager to ensure timely services and effective program delivery.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in Mental Health, Peer Work, Psychology, Social Work, or Occupational Therapy.
• NDIS knowledge and ability to connect participants with community supports.
• Experience in community services or health-related sectors preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coach and supervise on-site Support Workers and lead regular team meetings.
• Ensure effective communication for smooth shift operations and continuity of care.
• Develop and evaluate group programs to support recovery and skill development.
• Assist Area Manager with site recruitment, induction, and staff oversight.
• Escalate concerns, risks, or incidents promptly to Area Manager.

About the Service

The Housing with Support program is a service designed for adults living with severe and enduring psychosocial disability and co-occurring concerns and/or dual disabilities which have impacted their capacity to live independently in the community.

Participants are supported individually and in a group setting to better understand and develop strategies to manage the impacts of their mental health, enhance personal and daily living skills, create meaningful social and community connections, strengthen relationships with families and friends, and build confidence and capacity to live independently.

About the role

We are seeking an approachable, mentoring and calm under pressure Site Co-ordinator for a part time contract (28.5 hours per week) until June 2027 located in Wonthaggi. You will take a lead role in the day-to-day management of the site, ensuring Support Workers have the information and direction to undertake the required support at the right time with the participants in line with their support plans across the week.

Key responsibilities

• Coach, motivate and provide informal and formal supervision to onsite Psychosocial Disability Support Workers. Facilitate regular team meetings and foster a healthy, positive team culture.
• Maintain effective communication across the team to support smooth shift operations and continuity of care.
• Develop, facilitate, and evaluate group programs that support participants’ recovery, wellbeing, skill development, and capacity building.
• Support the Area Manager with site-based recruitment and induction of Psychosocial Disability Support Workers.
• Escalate concerns, risks, incidents, or matters to the Area Manager promptly.

What you’ll bring

• Tertiary qualifications (minimum Certificate IV) in Mental Health, Peer Work, Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy or other health related field as designated by Mind.
• Proven experience in Community Services, Mental Health, Disability, Social Welfare, Housing, Healthcare or Government sectors is required.
• Demonstrated experience supporting people with psychosocial disability and complex needs, with strong knowledge of the NDIS and the ability to connect participants, families, and carers with appropriate community services and supports.
• Skills and experience in advocacy, collaboration, facilitation, evaluation and problem solving.
• High level organisational skills with demonstrated ability to prioritise, manage multiple complex tasks concurrently, work under pressure and meet deadlines.
