Job summary

The Lurline Randwick in Sydney seeks an experienced Housekeeping Supervisor to lead our housekeeping team on a full-time basis, upholding the highest cleanliness standards and guest satisfaction. You will oversee daily operations, schedule tasks, train staff, inspect rooms and public areas, manage inventory, and collaborate with front office, maintenance and management to deliver exceptional service.

A proven hospitality housekeeping background and strong leadership are essential; the role

Qualifications

  • Proven experience working in housekeeping within a hospitality setting, with at least 2–3 years in a supervisory or lead role.
  • Strong knowledge of cleaning protocols, sanitation standards and guest room management best practices.
  • Excellent organisational and time‑management skills with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks effectively.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities with experience motivating and managing a team.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with guests and staff at all levels.
  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to respond calmly to challenges and complaints.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards in all areas.

Responsibilities

  • Supervising and coordinating the housekeeping team to ensure high standards.
  • Scheduling and allocating work assignments to housekeeping staff.
  • Training, mentoring and developing housekeeping staff.
  • Conducting regular inspections of guest rooms, common areas and back-of-house facilities to maintain quality control.
  • Managing inventory of cleaning supplies and housekeeping equipment, placing orders as needed and monitoring stock levels.
  • Responding promptly to maintenance issues, guest complaints and special requests related to cleanliness and room conditions.
  • Preparing and submitting reports on housekeeping operations, occupancy rates and team performance.
  • Ensuring compliance with health, safety and hygiene regulations across all housekeeping operations.
  • Collaborating with other departments including front office, maintenance and management to support overall guest satisfaction.
  • Managing lost and found procedures and guest communication regarding personal items.

Job description

The Lurline is seeking an experienced Housekeeping Supervisor to join our team on a full-time basis. This is a pivotal position within our housekeeping department, responsible for maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, organisation and guest satisfaction. As Housekeeping Supervisor, you will oversee daily operations, lead and motivate our housekeeping team, and ensure that every guest experience reflects the quality and excellence for which The Lurline is renowned. This role is fundamental to the success of our hospitality operations and plays a critical part in delivering exceptional guest experiences.

Key responsibilities

Supervising and coordinating the housekeeping team to ensure all areas of the property are cleaned and maintained to the highest standards

Scheduling and allocating work assignments to housekeeping staff, ensuring efficient coverage and task completion

Training, mentoring and developing housekeeping staff to ensure they meet company standards and best practices

Conducting regular inspections of guest rooms, common areas and back-of-house facilities to maintain quality control

Managing inventory of cleaning supplies and housekeeping equipment, placing orders as needed and monitoring stock levels

Responding promptly to maintenance issues, guest complaints and special requests related to cleanliness and room conditions

Preparing and submitting reports on housekeeping operations, occupancy rates and team performance

What we’re looking for

Proven experience working in housekeeping within a hospitality setting, with at least 2–3 years in a supervisory or lead role

Physical fitness and the ability to perform or supervise physical housekeeping duties

Knowledge of housekeeping management software and cleaning equipment is advantageous

Flexibility to work shifts including early mornings, evenings and weekends as required

Current First Aid certification or willingness to obtain it
