Job summary

Port Stephens Council is seeking a friendly Housekeeper to join our teams at Shoal Bay Holiday Park and Port Stephens Koala Sanctuary. You’ll work under the Housekeeping Team Leader, ensuring guests enjoy a great stay in all weather, across a 7-day rotating roster.

Permanent part-time roles with a minimum of 40 hours up to 76 hours per fortnight; weekend penalties apply. Training and support provided in a safety‑focused environment with access to health and wellbeing programs.

The opportunity

As we move into our peak season, we’re looking for enthusiastic and self-motivated Housekeeping professionals to join our teams at Shoal Bay Holiday Park, and Port Stephens Koala Sanctuary.

As a Housekeeper, you will be guided by the Housekeeping Team Leader, and work alongside a team, making sure our guests have a great stay and experience, rain, hail or shine!

These are permanent opportunities – working part-time a minimum of 40 hours up to a maximum of 76 hours per fortnight on a 7-day rotating roster

What does the roster look like?

Our rosters are scheduled in advance providing you plenty of notice of your shift times and schedules. As the Sanctuary is open 7-days a week, the roster is drawn up to reflect this, with shifts available across Monday to Sunday each week.

As our business focuses around tourism and holiday-goers, there will be times during peak periods where we do require some flexibility from staff with regard to their rosters to ensure we can continue to provide the best experience we can to our guests.

We roster to consider your leave requests and where possible, ensuring an even spread of weekend work across the team.

Base Hourly Rate Range: $29.66 to $36.78 per hour + 12% super + retention allowance + adverse work allowance

Please Note: For the purpose of recruitment, the title of Housekeeper has been used to reflect the equivalent industry title. Internally the official title of this position is Guest Services Housekeeper.
