Job summary

Hale School is seeking a casual Housekeeper for its boarding houses in Wembley Downs, WA. The role involves cleaning dorms, rooms, kitchens, bathrooms and common areas, plus laundry sorting/distribution.

Housekeeper – Hale School Boarding Houses

Hale School is Western Australia’s oldest independent boys’ school. Located in the suburb of Wembley Downs, the current campus is situated on a magnificent 48 hectare site, approximately 13 kilometres to the north-west of Perth and two kilometres from the coast. The Hale School Senior Boarding House is located on campus and is a residential facility for boys in Years 8 – 12 who attend Hale School. Brine House is a separate residence for Hale School boys in Year 7.

This casual role is to provide cleaning and other housekeeping duties to the boarding houses. Work hours are generally weekdays during term time between 8.30am and 3.00pm. Occasional work is offered during school holidays.

The primary duties of this role are cleaning of dorms, rooms, kitchens, bathrooms, toilets and common areas and sorting and distributing laundry.

In this role you will be part of a friendly and hard-working housekeeping team and member of an energetic boarding community. Applicants must have a genuine interest in young people and their welfare.

The successful applicant will have:

• Previous experience in cleaning and general housekeeping duties.
• Knowledge of the safe use of chemicals.
• Ability, or willing to learn, to use TEAMS for rostering and timesheets.
• Current Working with Children clearance (or to be obtained prior to employment).
• Current National Police Clearance (or to be obtained prior to employment).
• A resume outlining their relevant experience for the role.
• The names and contact numbers for two referees, one of whom must their current employer.
