Job summary

Novotel Sunshine Coast Resort and Convention Centre on the Sunshine Coast is seeking a motivated Hotel Accountant to join our Finance team. You’ll gain hands-on exposure to the numbers behind a busy resort while collaborating with teams across the property.

This role offers involvement in day-to-day accounting, month-end close, budgets and financial analysis, with opportunities to grow within the Accor group across Australia and internationally.

Qualifications

• A qualification in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
• Previous experience in an accounting or finance role.
• Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach.
• Good understanding of accounting principles and financial processes.
• Excellent communication and ability to build relationships across the hotel.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day accounting activities across the hotel.
• Process and oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
• Complete bank, balance sheet and general ledger reconciliations.
• Prepare daily and monthly financial information.
• Assist with month-end close and reporting requirements.
• Monitor outstanding accounts and support credit control processes.
• Assist with budgets, forecasts and financial analysis.
• Maintain accurate financial records and ensure accounting standards are met.
• Work with operational teams to resolve queries and support sound financial practices.
• Identify ways to improve accounting processes and efficiencies.
• Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, Accor policies and internal controls.

Behind the scenes is a busy and varied Finance operation supporting every part of the resort. From guest stays and dining to conferences and major events, you’ll gain hands‑on exposure to the financial workings of a dynamic hotel environment.

Job Description

We’re looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Hotel Accountant to join our Finance team.

You’ll become an integral part of the hotel’s Finance function, gaining hands‑on experience across the numbers behind a busy resort while working closely with teams across the property.

This is a varied role suited to an accountant who enjoys being involved in the detail, building strong relationships and understanding how Finance supports the wider hotel operation.

What you’ll be doing:

• Manage day-to-day accounting activities across the hotel
• Process and oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable functions

Qualifications

We’re looking for someone who brings:

• A qualification in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline
• Previous experience in an accounting or finance role
• Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach
• Good understanding of accounting principles and financial processes
• Strong Excel skills and confidence working with financial systems
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to build relationships across the hotel
• Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
• A proactive attitude with a genuine interest in developing your career
• Previous hotel or hospitality finance experience is advantageous
• Experience with Opera Cloud, Zambion, Purchase Plus, Micros Symphony or Sun Cloud is advantageous
