Job summary

Skilled Jobs Australia represents a well-established hotel group in Australia seeking General Hospitality Staff with strong customer service to join their team on site in Kingscote, SA.

The roles cover reservations, greetings, seating guests, bar service, wine and drink promotions, espresso-based beverages, coffee preparation, and cash handling with EFTPOS. RSA and Police clearance are required; weekend work and a rotating roster are expected.

Qualifications

• Relevant hospitality qualifications or 2+ years of experience.

• RSA and Police clearance (current).

Responsibilities

• Take reservations, greet guests, and present menus and beverage lists.
• Set and arrange tables and serve food and drinks.
• Recommend wine and cocktails and handle beverage service.
• Conduct tastings and manage coffee and espresso machines.
• Take payments using EFTPOS and cash registers.
• Promote services and products and manage stock displays.
• Maintain bar and coffee service areas and keep areas clean.
• Clear tables and bars, and return dishes and glassware to the kitchen.

Job description

Our client is a well-established hotel chain is looking for General Hospitality Staff with great customer service skills to join their hotel.

We have multiple allrounder hospitality positions covering the following duties:

• taking reservations, greeting and seating guests, and presenting them with menus and beverage lists
• setting and arranging tables
• taking food and beverage orders
• serving food and beverages
• recommend wine and drinks to complement food
• opening bottles and pouring beverages
• conducting wine, beer, and spirit tastings
• preparing, serving and selling cocktails, mixed drinks, bottled, canned and other alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, and a variety of coffee beverages such as lattes, cappuccinos and other espresso-based beverages
• selecting and grinding coffee
• clearing bars and tables and returning dishes, glasses and cutlery to kitchen
• removing empty bottles and used glasses from tables and bars
• cleaning and maintaining bar service areas, coffee-making areas and espresso machines
• washing glassware and arranging bottles and glasses
• tapping kegs and attaching supply lines, replenishing drink dispensers, shelves and refrigerators
• collecting payments for sales and operating EFTPOS and cash registers
• promoting services and products
• stacking and displaying goods for sale
• preparing displays and presenting stock, including specials

ABOUT YOU:

• Relevant qualifications in Hospitality at certificate II or above with at least 1 year of experience; or have at least 2 years of relevant work experience
• Enthusiasm, tenacity, attention to details and a positive, engaging approach to providing high-quality service
• Demonstrated understanding of Australian food safety and HACCP, as required
• Practice proper workplace health and safety procedures
• Comply with relevant regulations
• Availability to work weekends and public holidays as required within a rotating roster
• Well presented, punctual and reliable
• Ability to keep your section clean and organized with a good understanding of workflow and structure
• Ability to prioritize and work under pressure
• A passion for quality food and produce, and service
• Current RSA and Police clearance

Salary range $65,000-$ 75,000 per annum + superannuation
