Job summary

Mater is seeking a Protective Services Officer to join the team at South Brisbane. This part-time permanent role is 36 hours per week, offering a salary range of AUD 35.74–37.46 per hour plus superannuation and salary packaging up to AUD 18,550 plus staff benefits.

You will patrol hospital grounds, monitor CCTV and alarms, assist with safety inspections, and support emergency responses, with a focus on high-level safety and customer service.

Qualifications

• Must hold Security Licence, Class 1-Unarmed
• Certificate 2 or 3 in Security Guarding or Operations
• Fire Safety Advisor Licence preferred
• Experience in Fire Safety/Security services is an advantage
• Open Drivers Licence

Responsibilities

• Report fire safety hazards or breaches
• Patrol hospitals and campus grounds
• Assist with compliance inspections of buildings and firefighting equipment
• Assist with helicopter medical retrievals when necessary
• Provide information and assistance to staff, visitors and service contractors
• Operate Access Control Systems, monitor CCTV, Security Alarms and Fire Alarms
• Regulate parking and traffic movement
• Assist during emergencies
• Respond to alarms and calls for assistance
