Job summary

Geelong Flower Farm is seeking a reliable Horticultural & Wholesale Assistant to join our team. This hands-on role suits someone passionate about flowers and horticulture, capable of learning quickly in a busy farm and wholesale setting.

The position offers a 3-month trial with part-time hours (30+ per week), with potential to move to full-time during peak periods. A current truck licence and a willingness to perform a weekly night market shift are preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience with flowers, horticulture, farming or crop production preferred.
• Willing to learn and adapt in a fast-paced flower farm/wholesale environment.
• Must hold a current truck licence and manual driver’s licence.
• Willing to work one night shift per week for the flower market.
• Physically capable of lifting and manual work.
• Reliable, punctual, flexible and a team player.

Responsibilities

• Picking and harvesting flowers and crops.
• Assisting with growing, planting and crop maintenance.
• Preparing flowers and stock for wholesale.
• Loading, unloading and moving flower stock.
• Assisting with general farm and wholesale operations.
• Driving company vehicles and trucks as required.
• Attending the flower market for one night shift per week.
• Working closely with the team and following management directions.

Job description

We are looking for a reliable, hardworking and enthusiastic Horticultural & Wholesale Assistant to join our team at Geelong Flower Farm. This is a hands-on and varied role suited to someone who has a genuine passion for flowers, horticulture and working within a fast-paced flower farm and wholesale environment.
Experience in this field is great, however not 100% needed. A passion and drive to learn is priority.

A 3-month trial period will apply.
Part Time - 30+ hours, with likelihood for hours to increase to full time over busy periods.

Key responsibilities

• Picking and harvesting flowers and crops
• Assisting with growing, planting and general crop maintenance

About you

• Has previous experience working with flowers, horticulture, farming or crop production
• Has experience picking and growing crops, ideally within a flower farm environment
• Holds a current truck licence and manual driver's licence
• Is available and willing to work one night shift per week for the flower market
• Is physically capable and comfortable with safe heavy lifting and manual work
• Has a genuine passion for flowers, horticulture and hands-on work
• Is reliable, punctual, flexible and accommodating
• Has good communication skills and works well within a team
• Understands instructions and takes direction well
• Is willing to learn and assist across different areas of the business
