Job summary

Wallflower Farm in Queensland is seeking a casual flower harvester and farm hand to assist with harvesting, packaging flowers for markets and florists, and general farm maintenance. Starting with 12 hours per week, with potential to increase during Spring/Summer/Autumn. The role is physically demanding and requires the ability to work outdoors in all weather.

Qualifications

• Experience in manual labour is required.
• Prior farm work is advantageous but not essential.
• Having a manual driver's licence is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and complete flower harvest as per orders.
• Wash and sanitise buckets and equipment.
• Monitor and maintain crop health throughout season.
• Staking, weeding, planting and general farm maintenance.
• Sow seeds and manage seedling growth.
• Maintain a clean and safe workplace and follow WHS policies.
• Assist with ad hoc duties as required by the Manager.

Our family flower farm is seeking a casual flower harvester and farm hand to join our team this Spring. Starting with 12hours per week with the potential to increase hours in our busy season (Spring/Summer/Autumn). This role is an ongoing casual position with shifts and hours fluctuating throughout the year. Individuals only seeking temporary work need not apply. This is a physically demanding job as we are a commercial farm so will require someone who is willing and able to put in the hard work.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Overview:

The Harvester/Farm Hand will assist in harvesting and packaging flowers to complete orders for delivery to flower markets and florists. They will also be required to help with general farm maintenance work around the farm.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Coordinate and complete flower harvest as per orders or wherever needed.
• Wash and sanitise buckets and equipment ready for harvest.
• Monitor and maintain crop health throughout season.
• Staking, weeding, planting and general farm maintenance.
• Sow seeds according to sowing schedule.
• Monitor seedling growth in prop house and rotate seedlings to areas required.
• Maintain a clean and safe workplace, and abide by workplace health and safety policies and procedures.
• Any other Ad Hoc duties as requested by the Manager.

• Must have experience in manual labour
• Previous farm work experience an advantage but not essential
