Job summary

Silverchain is seeking a Home Care Worker to assist our aged care clients at home in Wyong and surrounding areas. You will provide practical support, companionship and transport, helping clients maintain independence and wellbeing.

The role offers an award rate of $43.03 per hour plus Super and paid kilometres, with access to an employee benefits program and salary packaging up to $18,550 tax free each year. CPR and First Aid courses are included in training.

Qualifications

• Valid Australian Driver's Licence and own insured vehicle are required.
• Interest in community care or aged care is essential.
• 3-6 months previous experience in a similar role is preferred.

Responsibilities

• General housekeeping and making beds.
• Cleaning, mopping and vacuuming floors.
• Washing, folding and ironing laundry.
• Meal preparation and grocery shopping.
• Providing social support and transport to lifestyle activities.
• Helping the family carer to have a break or time for other tasks.

It takes a special person to be a Home Care Worker and help the older members of our community to maintain their home and enhance their wellbeing. We are looking for just that person to join the Silverchain team in Wyong and surrounding areas.

• Don’t sweat the small stuff. Sometimes your client will be having a bad day or traffic delays you, but you know not to take this personally and can shake it off before your next client.
• Are comfortable working independently and finding solutions to everyday problems, knowing when to ask your manager for help.

In addition, you will need:

• A valid Australian Driver's Licence & your own insured, roadworthy vehicle
• An interest in community care or aged care (3 - 6 months previous experience in a similar role).

The role
