Job summary

Silverchain Group in Grafton, NSW, is seeking Home Care Workers to support aged clients at home, helping with daily tasks and personal care. The role offers casual hours with progression towards part-time contracts and includes benefits such as salary packaging.

Responsibilities

• General housekeeping and making beds
• Cleaning, mopping and vacuuming floors
• Washing, folding and ironing laundry
• Meal preparation and grocery shopping
• Getting clients out of bed, showered and dressed for the day
• Assisting clients to take their medications
• Assisting with mobility and therapy goals
• Providing complex care for customers with high care needs, such as dementia
• Providing social and emotional support
• Providing the client with transport to lifestyle activities or appointments
• Helping the family carer to have a break or an opportunity to do other things.

Job description

It takes a special person to be a Home Care Worker and help the older members of our community to maintain their home and enhance their wellbeing. We are looking for just that person to join the Silverchain team in Grafton and surrounding suburbs (Clarenza, South Grafton, Tucabia, & Waterview Heights).

• Are comfortable working independently and finding solutions to everyday problems, knowing when to ask your manager for help.

In addition, you will need:

• A valid Australian Driver's Licence & your own insured, roadworthy vehicle
• Experience of 3 months or more in a similar professional role, with experience in with personal care, manual handling, hoist training and medications. (no cert 3 required)

The role

In the role of Care Worker you will be providing our aged care clients with home help services such as:
