Job summary

Silverchain Group is seeking a Home Care Worker in Tweed Heads, NSW. You will deliver in-home care to seniors, including light housekeeping, meal prep, personal care, and mobility support, enabling clients to live independently at home.

The role offers casual hours with potential for permanent part-time, paid CPR/First Aid courses, and opportunities to pursue Cert 3 through accelerated learning programs.

Qualifications

• Experience in a similar professional role in aged care or disability services.
• Ability to build positive relationships with clients and their families.

Responsibilities

• Provide general housekeeping, bed making, cleaning, laundry, and meal preparation.
• Assist with personal care tasks and mobility, including getting clients in/out of bed and dressing.
• Support clients with medications and transport to activities or appointments.
• Provide social and emotional support and help families take a break when needed.

It takes a special person to be a Home Care Worker and help the older members of our community to maintain their home and enhance their wellbeing. We are looking for experienced Carers, Support Workers (or similar position in Aged Care & or Disability) to join the Silverchain team in Tweed Heads & surrounding suburbs (Banora Point, Kings Forest, Upper Duroby etc...)

In Addition, You Will Need

• A valid Australian Driver's Licence & your own insured, roadworthy vehicle
• Experience of 3 months or more in a similar professional role, with experience in with personal care, manual handling, hoist training and medications. (no cert 3 required)

The role

In the role of Care Worker you will be providing our aged care clients with home help services such as:

• General housekeeping and making beds
• Cleaning, mopping and vacuuming floors
• Washing, folding and ironing laundry
• Meal preparation and grocery shopping.

You will also be providing our aged care clients with personal care services such as:

• Getting clients out of bed, showered and dressed for the day
• Assisting clients to take their medications
• Assisting with mobility and therapy goals
• Providing complex care for customers with high care needs, such as dementia
• Providing social and emotional support
• Providing the client with transport to lifestyle activities or appointments
• Helping the family carer to have a break or an opportunity to do other things.
