Job summary

Silverchain Group is hiring Care Workers for the Gold Coast North area (Coomera, Southport, Surfers Paradise). Roles involve home care, personal support, and light domestic tasks to maintain independence and wellbeing for older clients.

Applicants should have at least 3 months in a similar role, valid Australian driver's licence, and access to a vehicle. Competitive hourly rates and benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• 3 months+ experience in a similar role with personal care.
• Experience with manual handling and medications is preferred.
• Hoist training is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Provide general housekeeping and domestic tasks in clients' homes.
• Assist with cleaning, laundry, meals and grocery shopping.
• Deliver personal care including mobility assistance and daily routines.
• Support clients with medication administration and health needs.
• Provide social and emotional support and transportation for activities.

It takes a special person to be a Care Worker and help the older members of our community to maintain their independence and wellbeing. We are looking for carers with at least 3 months experience in a similar professional role (no Cert 3 required), to join the Silverchain team in Gold Coast North (Coomera, Southport, Surfers Paradise etc...).

In Addition, You Will Need

• A valid Australian Driver's Licence & your own insured, roadworthy vehicle
• Experience of 3 months or more in a similar professional role, with experience in with personal care, manual handling, hoist training and medications.

The role

In the role of Care Worker you will be providing our aged care clients with home help services such as:

• General housekeeping and making beds
• Cleaning, mopping and vacuuming floors
• Washing, folding and ironing laundry
• Meal preparation and grocery shopping.

You will also be providing our aged care clients with personal care services such as:

• Getting clients out of bed, showered and dressed for the day
• Assisting clients to take their medications
• Assisting with mobility and therapy goals
• Providing complex care for customers with high care needs, such as dementia
• Providing social and emotional support
• Providing the client with transport to lifestyle activities or appointments
• Helping the family carer to have a break or an opportunity to do other things.
