Job summary

Mercy Health is seeking a Home Care Worker for the Cairns area on a casual basis. The role involves supporting clients to stay in their own homes with respite, personal care, domestic help and carer support, under Care Advisor direction.

You’ll work in a multidisciplinary team, communicating client needs promptly and providing compassionate, patient-centred care. A flexible schedule and ongoing service support are offered, including mobile phone access.

Qualifications

  • Certificate III in Home or Aged Care or Certificate IV in Disability Support.
  • National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) Clearance.
  • First Aid Certificate that includes CPR.
  • Driver Licence.

Responsibilities

  • Support clients to remain living in their own home through respite, personal care, domestic assistance and carer support as directed by Care Advisors.
  • Provide accurate and timely information about client needs or changes in client condition to the Care Advisor.
  • Listen to clients and give them a voice, enabling them to choose for themselves.
  • Be part of a multi-disciplinary team delivering highly responsive and flexible service to consumers and carers.
