Job summary

Mercy Health in Cairns is seeking a casual Home Care worker to support clients living at home with respite, personal care, domestic assistance and carer support per care plans. You’ll communicate needs to Care Advisors and advocate for client choices.

Join a multi-disciplinary team delivering flexible, person-centred care. Required qualifications include CHC certificates, NDIS clearance, CPR-enabled First Aid and a valid driver license.

Responsibilities

• Support clients to stay at home with respite, personal care, domestic help and carer support per care plans.
• Provide accurate, timely information about client needs or changes to the Care Advisor.
• Listen to clients and empower them to choose for themselves.
• Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to provide responsive services to consumers and carers.

About the opportunity

• To support clients to remain living in their own home through the provision of respite, personal care, domestic assistance and carer support in accordance with care plans and as directed by Care Advisors
• To provide accurate and timely information about client needs/change in client condition to the Care Advisor
• Listen to clients and give them a voice, enabling them to choose for themselves
• Be part of a multi-disciplinary team which requires you to provide highly responsive and flexible service to consumers and carers".

What you'll bring

You will also be required to provide evidence of, or in the process of obtaining:

• Certificate III in Home or Aged Care or Certificate IV in Disability Support.
• National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) Clearance.
• First Aid Certificate that includes CPR.
• Driver Licence.
