Job summary

LG Services and Supports in Victoria invites applications for a compassionate Home Care Support Worker on a contract basis, delivering in-home aged and disability support with a focus on independence and quality of life.

You will perform personal care tasks, assist with meals and mobility, accompany clients to appointments, and document care while collaborating with the care team. A valid First Aid/CPR certification is preferred, with flexible shifts including evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• First Aid and CPR certification current or willingness to obtain.
• Experience in aged care, disability support, or related community services.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with empathy.
• Reliability and flexibility to work across various shift patterns, including evenings and weekend shifts.
• Physical capability to perform manual tasks and assist with mobility support.
• Commitment to person-centred care and supporting client independence.
• Problem-solving skills and the ability to respond appropriately to challenging situations.
• A valid driver's license would be advantageous for community-based support.

Responsibilities

• Providing personal care assistance, including help with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
• Assisting clients with meal preparation, shopping, and light housekeeping duties
• Supporting clients with mobility and safe movement around their home environment
• Accompanying clients to medical appointments and community outings
• Monitoring and reporting changes in clients' health, wellbeing, or support needs to management
• Maintaining accurate and timely documentation of care provided and client interactions
• Building positive, respectful relationships with clients and their families
• Ensuring client dignity, privacy, and rights are upheld at all times
• Adhering to health and safety protocols, including infection control and manual handling procedures
• Working collaboratively with the wider care team to deliver coordinated support
