Job summary

RAC WA is seeking a Home Assessor to join their Home Claims team on a full-time permanent basis. You will assess home and contents claims on site, coordinating with service providers to ensure cost effective settlements and timely processing.

The role offers a hybrid work arrangement and ongoing training to support career development. You will liaise with members, repairers and insurers, review external reports and adjust settlements to deliver fair outcomes.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Home Assessor in insurance is highly desirable.
• Loss adjusting qualifications preferred.
• Knowledge of residential building codes and repairs is required.

Responsibilities

• Assess and process a caseload of home and contents claims.
• Liaise with members, repairers, suppliers and third parties to settle claims.
• Review assessment reports from loss adjusters, repairers or engineers.
• Adjust settlements and set reserves accordingly.
• Inspect and audit claim repairs by the service provider network.
• Identify risk information for underwriters and fraud checks.
• Conduct desktop reviews through to settlement.
• Keep accurate updates and diaries in the claims system.

We have a rare opportunity to join our Home Claims team at RAC Insurance as a Home Assessor on a Full Time, Permanent basis.

Reporting to the Team Manager Home Assessing, you will be responsible for assessing home and contents claims on site, while ensuring services and repairs by service providers are cost effective and efficiently utilised.

What will you be doing?

• Assess and process a caseload of allocated home and contents claims in an accurate and timely manner.


• Liaise with members, repairers, suppliers, claims staff and third parties to achieve a seamless claim settlement process.


• Review assessment reports received from external loss adjusters, repairers, manufacturers or engineers.


• Adjust claim settlements to achieve fair and equitable outcomes and setting of accurate reserves.


• Inspection and audit of claim repairs completed by approved service provider network.


• Identify risk management information to underwriters, potential fraud matters and recovery opportunities.


• Conduct desktop claim reviews through to settlement


• Ensure accurate and complete updates and diaries are kept on our claims management system.

What are we looking for in you?

• Demonstrated experience working as a Home Assessor within the Insurance industry is highly desirable.


• Loss Adjusting qualifications (Cert IV or Diploma) is highly desirable


• Extensive knowledge of residential building codes and property repair industry


• Strong customer service, negotiation and communication skills


• Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills


• Flexibility and enthusiasm in a professional work environment.


• Must have a current and unrestricted drivers license.


• Relevant trade qualifications in building and construction or relevant trade background is desirable.
