Job summary

Auto & General is seeking a Home Assessing Team Leader to guide a skilled team responsible for assessing properties, validating costs, and delivering high-quality scopes within end-to-end claims management. This hands-on leadership role focuses on coaching, developing capabilities, and maintaining consistent approaches across diverse assessments.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to lead, coach, mentor and motivate a high performing team with accountability on results
• Strong change-agility and exceptional time management skills
• Minimum 2 years' experience in Home Assessing or Building Industry (estimating and assessing experience essential)
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including report writing and negotiation
• Demonstrated experience building effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders
• Insurance experience preferred but not essential

Responsibilities

• People Leadership – lead and coach a high-performing team, drive service excellence and adherence to HR frameworks
• Coaching & Continuous Improvement – provide ongoing coaching, develop team capabilities, and improve scoping accuracy and cost validation
• Cost Control – implement cost control strategies to deliver outcomes to plan and identify improvements
• Relationship Management – build and maintain relationships with stakeholders and provide constructive feedback
• Performance & Progress Reporting – track KPIs and contribute to claims performance improvement initiatives
