Job summary

Central Adelaide Local Health Network is seeking a Technical Officer to join the Anatomical Pathology team in Adelaide. This hands-on role involves preparing and processing histological specimens, embedding, sectioning and staining tissue while supporting clinical trials, research and specialised laboratory techniques.

You will work across the Main, Cut Up and Immunocytochemistry Laboratories, building broad technical experience, maintaining equipment and stock, and supporting quality assurance

Qualifications

• Hold the relevant qualification for appointment at TGO-0 or TGO-1.
• Histopathology experience in tissue processing and sectioning.
• Knowledge of histological and specialised techniques.
• Work independently and within a team to meet laboratory priorities.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and process histological specimens including embedding, sectioning and staining.
• Support clinical trials, research and specialized laboratory techniques.
• Maintain equipment and stock; support quality assurance and accreditation.
• Staff training and supervision as needed.
