Job summary

Statewide Clinical Support Services (SCSS) seeks a Central Adelaide Local Health Network Technical Officer to perform hands-on histology duties, including embedding, sectioning and staining, while supporting trials and advanced lab techniques.

You will work across Main, Cut Up and Immunocytochemistry Laboratories, maintain equipment, support QA/accreditation, and train staff, contributing to efficient pathology services.

Qualifications

• Hold the relevant qualification for appointment at TGO-0 or TGO-1.
• Histopathology experience in tissue processing and sectioning.
• Sound knowledge of histological and specialised techniques.
• Work independently and within a team to meet laboratory priorities.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and process histological specimens, embedding, sectioning and staining tissue.
• Support clinical trials, research and specialised laboratory techniques.
• Maintain equipment and stock, support quality assurance and accreditation activities.
• Share expertise through staff training and supervision.
