Job summary

Rarekind, partnering with a family-owned global leader in lifting and hoisting equipment, is opening a new Somersby Hire Centre. This hands-on role leads a small team, champions safety, and drives continuous improvement with a focus on service excellence.

You’ll manage maintenance paperwork, order spare parts, ensure equipment is available for hire, and handle opening/closing, repairs, and turnover. You’ll mentor staff and work with the Sales team and General Manager to optimise centre

Qualifications

• Experience in a supervisory role within the hire/equipment sector.
• Clean driving record with MR and forklift licences.
• Flexibility to work varying hours, including some Saturdays.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office programs.

Responsibilities

• Maintain maintenance paperwork and ensure records are up to date.
• Order spare parts before stock runs out and ensure equipment is available for hire.
• Open/close the centre, organise repairs, and optimise operations for efficiency.
• Supervise and mentor the hire centre team; act as escalation point with Sales and GM.

We need a Hire Centre Manager to run the show at the new Somersby branch. You'll lead a small team, champion a culture centred on safety, continuous improvement, and superior customer service. This is a hands-on, high-impact role for someone who likes owning the outcome.

• You’ll stay on top of the maintenance paperwork, order the spare parts before you run out, and ensure equipment available for hire.
• You’ll open up, lock up, organise any repairs, and ensure optimisation across the centre so it works efficiently.
• Supervise, mentor and provide technical guidance to the hire centre team.
• Act as a technical escalation point, working seamlessly with the sales team, the General Manager and hire centre colleagues.

What you’ll bring:

• Previous management/supervisory experience in a similar field.
• A clean driving record, MR and forklift licences.
• Ability to work flexible hours, with the occasional Saturday.
• Proficient using Microsoft Office programs.
