Job summary

The View on Mount Glorious is seeking a passionate Cook to join our welcoming kitchen team at Mount Glorious, about 50 minutes from Brisbane CBD. You will play a key role delivering high-quality meals and maintaining kitchen standards in a busy, high-volume environment.

As a Cook, you will work within a supportive team, handle seasonal menu development, ensure food safety and cost-effective operations, and be available to work Saturdays and Sundays with a Wednesday-Sunday roster.

Qualifications

• Certificate III/IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent.
• Minimum one year full-time experience as a Cook.
• Ability to work efficiently during high-volume service.
• Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen operations.
• Solid understanding of food safety and hygiene standards.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Able to stay organized, efficient and calm during busy service.
• Strong communication skills and teamwork ability.
• Must be available to work Saturdays and Sundays.
• Wednesday to Sunday roster; Monday/Tuesday off.
• Flexibility for holidays, evenings, functions and events.
• Own reliable transport; travel to Mount Glorious for rostered shifts.
• Willing to relocate within reasonable proximity to Mount Glorious.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, cook and present high-quality meals per menu and standards.
• Assist in development of seasonal menus, specials and new offerings.
• Ensure food is prepared and presented to a high standard.
• Monitor quality, portions and presentation.
• Maintain stock levels and assist with ordering supplies.
• Inspect ingredients and ensure proper storage.
• Follow food safety, hygiene and WHS regulations.
• Minimize waste and maintain cost-effective operations.
• Assist in training and supervising junior kitchen staff.
• Collaborate with management and front-of-house for efficient service.
