Job summary

JLE Group in Orange is seeking a hands-on Workshop Electrician to join our Manufacturing & Hire division. You will fabricate, assemble, test, and maintain industrial electrical equipment and switchboards in a busy workshop environment.

Work with mechanical fitters and project teams to meet build timelines, ensuring compliance with AS/NZS standards, WHS policies, and safe work practices. You’ll read diagrams, troubleshoot faults, and mentor apprentices as needed.

Qualifications

• NSW Electrical Licence and trade qualification required.
• Strong knowledge of AS/NZS 3000 and safety standards.
• Experience in industrial or workshop electrical environments.
• Wiring diagrams and schematic reading proficiency.
• Fault finding, testing, and commissioning capabilities.
• Switchboard assembly and fabrication experience.
• High Risk Work Licences (EWP, Forklift) advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, wire, and install electrical components for plant, equipment, and switchboards.
• Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and plans.
• Perform workshop-based electrical installations on prefabricated structures and modules.
• Conduct scheduled inspections, testing, and QA documentation.
• Ensure compliance with WHS policies, lockout/tagout, and safe work procedures.
