Job summary

TransAlta Australia seeks a High Voltage Technician for a FIFO Leinster role. The successful candidate will support 6 power stations in WA, performing HV operations and preventive maintenance.

Base location will be Leinster or Mt Keith, primarily day shifts with some night work, and an 8/6 FIFO pattern from Perth with site travel as needed. The role requires HV Switching Operator endorsement, electrical trade qualification, an EW License, and the ability to work safely in teams or independently.

Qualifications

• HV Switching Operator endorsement required.
• Trade qualification in electrical discipline or higher.
• Electrical Workers License essential.
• Excellent organisational and communication skills.
• Ability to work safely both independently and in a team.
• Basic computer skills (email, word, spreadsheet) required.

Responsibilities

• Operate HV switching in line with MSIR 1995.
• Ensure compliance with safety policies and procedures.
• Plan maintenance and outages per Work Management Process.
• Coordinate capital works projects.
• Troubleshoot plant equipment to restore supply.
• Provide detailed maintenance reports.
