Job summary

Stowe Australia Pty Ltd seeks a High Voltage Electrical Technician with hands-on HV maintenance, testing and servicing experience for projects in Victoria. You will work with a blue-chip client base across multiple brands, leveraging strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.

Responsibilities include preventative and reactive HV/LV maintenance on switchgear, transformers and protection systems, plus performing primary/secondary injection tests, developing safe switching procedures and ensuring

Qualifications

• Able to read single-line diagrams, schematics and technical drawings.
• Diagnostics such as thermography or ultrasonic testing would be an advantage.
• Hands-on experience with HV/LV assets in industrial or utility settings.
• High voltage experience and required clearances/visa to work in Australia.

Responsibilities

• Maintenance & repair of HV/LV switchgear, transformers, switchboards and cables.
• Testing & commissioning including primary/secondary injection and protection relay testing.
• Switching operations with safe isolations and permit execution.
• Compliance & safety: risk assessments, JSA/SWMS and safety documentation.

Job description

One of Australia’s largest electrical & communications contractors is looking to engage the services of a High Voltage Electrical Technician with experience in maintaining, testing and servicing of High Voltage equipment.

You will need to demonstrate a strong background in the maintaining and testing of High Voltage equipment dealing largely with a Blue-Chip client base.

You will need to be able to perform your works across several different brands of equipment and have strong diagnostic and fault-finding abilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintenance & Repair: Perform preventative and Reactive maintenance on HV LV switchgear, transformers, Switchboards, SCADA Systems and cables.
• Testing & Commissioning: Conduct primary/secondary injection, on Switchboards, Transformers, Motors, Generators, Capacitor Banks and protection relay testing.
• Switching Operations: Able to develop HV Switching Procedures and execute safe electrical isolations and high voltage switching and issue relevant permits.
• Compliance & Safety: Follow strict safety rules, complete risk assessments, and write service reports, developing of job specific JSA's, SWMS and Safety documents.
  

Requirements & Qualifications

• Trade License: A-Grade Electrical Trade Qualification or equivalent.
• HV Certification: High Voltage Switching Operator certificate (current).
• Experience: Hands-on background working with industrial or utility HV/LV electrical assets.
• Skills: Ability to read single-line diagrams, schematics, and technical drawings.
• Diagnostics: Thermography, Ultrasonic or any other condition monitoring certifications would be an advantage.

Applicants will only be considered if they have High Voltage experience and has all the necessary clearances and visa requirements to work in Australia.

Remuneration and package will be developed depending on abilities and experience based on current Victorian ETU EBA conditions.
