Job summary

Powertech is seeking an experienced High Voltage Technician to join the Brisbane branch on a Full-Time permanent basis. The role involves commissioning and testing HV protections systems, HV Plant, and Power Generation Systems, plus protection relay testing in a substation environment.

You will prepare commissioning/testing documentation, test plans, and detailed reports, and conduct JSHAs to identify hazards and implement controls.

Qualifications

• Unrestricted QLD Electrical Fitter and Mechanic Workers License.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience.
• Valid Driver’s Licence.
• Knowledge of Australian Standards.
• Proven ability meeting project quality, schedule and budget requirements.

Responsibilities

• Commissioning and testing HV protections systems.
• Commissioning and testing HV Plant.
• Commissioning and Testing Power Generation Systems.
• Protection Relay Testing.
• HV Primary and secondary system testing in a substation environment.
• Assist in preparation of commissioning/testing documentation, test plans and create detailed technical reports on completion of works.
• Carry out JSHAs prior to commencing any new works to identify hazards and implement the necessary controls.
• Knowledge of HV/LV Transformer Testing (i.e. Tan Delta/Turns Ratio/SFRA/Dirana/Voltage Ratio/Winding Resistance, Oil Sampling)
