Job summary

Hastings Deering (Australia) Ltd, Middlemount, is seeking a qualified High Voltage Electrician to maintain CAT mining equipment, including high voltage systems on the CAT 794 Electric Trucks. This is a permanent 7/7 Day/Night Drive In/Drive Out roster with generous allowances and a strong safety culture.

Qualifications

• Electrical trade qualifications with experience in heavy industry, mining or mobile equipment maintenance.
• Demonstrated high voltage experience on mining/heavy machinery.
• Current Standard 11 and Coal Board Medical or ability to obtain them.

Responsibilities

• Maintain critical fleet assets – perform electrical maintenance, fault finding, repairs and warranty work on CAT mining equipment, including high voltage systems.
• Deliver safe, quality outcomes – ensure work complies with safety and quality standards, maximise equipment availability.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot using Caterpillar diagnostic tools to identify and resolve electrical faults.
• Keep customers informed – communicate job progress and equipment status to onsite stakeholders.
• Support equipment reliability – assess components for reuse and lifecycle optimization.
• Complete accurate documentation – submit service reports, timecards, and quotations.

We're looking for experienced High Voltage Electricians to join our team at Middlemount to support the maintenance, repair and performance of cutting-edge CAT 794 Electric Truck technology. This is a Permanent 7/7 Day/Night Shift roster Drive In/Drive Out role servicing one of Queensland's leading mining operations.

What you'll be doing

As a High Voltage Electrician at Hastings Deering, you will:

• Diagnose and troubleshoot effectively – utilise Caterpillar diagnostic systems and technical resources to identify and resolve complex electrical faults.
• Keep customers informed – provide clear communication on job progress, repair requirements and equipment status to onsite stakeholders.
• Support equipment reliability – assess components for reusability and make recommendations to optimise equipment performance and lifecycle.
• Complete accurate documentation – submit detailed service reports, timecards, parts requests and quotations in a timely manner.

What you'll need

A successful teammate will have experience in:

• Electrical trade qualifications – current Electrical Trade Qualification with experience in heavy industry, mining or mobile equipment maintenance.
• High voltage capability – demonstrated experience working on high voltage electrical systems, preferably within mining or heavy machinery environments.
• Mining industry readiness – current Standard 11 and Coal Board Medical, or the ability to obtain them through Hastings Deering.
• Technical expertise – experience using Caterpillar diagnostic systems such as ET, VIMS, SIMSi and SIS will be highly regarded.
• Customer-focused communication – strong communication skills with the ability to build effective working relationships onsite.
• Safety-first approach – a demonstrated commitment to workplace health, safety and environmental standards.
