Job summary

Empowered Living Choices is seeking a High Intensity Disability Support Worker to assist participants on the Gold Coast. You will provide compassionate care, ensure safety, and support daily living activities for people with complex needs.

Ideal candidates have experience in disability support, strong communication, and the ability to work proactively across shifts. The role involves overnight and day shifts in a supportive team environment on the Gold Coast.

Qualifications

• Experience in disability support
• Qualification in Disability, Individual Support or Community Services preferred
• Current First Aid & CPR
• Current Working with Children Check (Blue Card)
• Current NDIS Worker Screening Clearance (Yellow Card)
• Current National Police Check
• Strong written and verbal English
• Driver's licence and reliable transport preferred

About the Role

We are currently seeking High Intensity Disability Support Workers to support participants on the Gold Coast. We are looking for high level support staff who are patient, respectful and considerate of the people we work with, ensuring skill and a high level service across every shift.

We're looking for experienced dedicated professionals who are :

• Non-smokers
• Calm, proactive and able to take initiative
• Kind, reliable and dependable
• Have strong communication
• Comfortable working independently
• Attentive, observant and able to respond to changing support needs
• Experience with degenerative disabilities (MND, Huntington's, Dementia, MSA)
• Have experience with NIV machine, Cough Assist Machine, PEG and Hoisting

Key Responsibilities

• Provide proactive support and monitoring throughout the shift
• Assist with personal care and domestic routines as required
• Respond promptly to participant needs
• Maintain a safe, calm and supportive environment
• Complete accurate documentation and detailed handover notes
• Report any incidents or concerns in line with company procedures

Requirements

• Previous disability support experience
• Qualification in Disability, Individual Support or Community Services (preferred)
• Current First Aid & CPR Certificate
• Current Working with Children Check (Blue Card)
• Current NDIS Worker Screening Clearance (Yellow Card)
• Current National Police Check
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills
• Current driver's licence and reliable transport (preferred)
• Compassionate, patient and positive attitude

Shifts Available: AM, PM, Sleepover and Active nights

Pay: In accordance with the SCHADS Award and based on experience and qualifications.
