Job summary

Brighton Secondary College invites applications for a classroom teacher. The role focuses on planning, preparing and delivering programs to achieve targeted student outcomes, with emphasis on responsive teaching and ongoing professional learning.

As a Range 1 or Range 2 classroom teacher, you will engage in reflective practice, contribute to school policies, mentor students and colleagues, and support student learning growth within a dynamic, diverse community in Melbourne, VIC.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated knowledge of the curriculum and ability to teach literacy and numeracy.
• Experience planning high impact teaching strategies and evaluating their impact on student growth.
• Experience monitoring and assessing student learning and using data to inform practice.
• Strong communication and collaboration with students, parents and colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Direct teaching of groups of students and individual students
• Contribute to development, implementation and evaluation of a curriculum area or program
• Undertake other classroom teaching related and organizational duties as directed
• Participate in parent/teacher meetings, staff meetings, camps and excursions
• Undertake non-teaching supervisory duties as required
