Job summary

TASK National Group is seeking experienced HFC Technicians for decommissioning across Victoria. This field-based role focuses on removing legacy aerial HFC infrastructure in line with safety and client requirements.

Qualifications

• Experience in HFC decommissioning or similar field-based telecom work.
• Valid Driver's Licence and ability to work at heights.
• White Card/OHS induction and CPR/First Aid knowledge.
• HR Licence is advantageous.
• Ability to operate elevated work platforms safely.

Responsibilities

• Remove aerial HFC network and coaxial cables from poles.
• Perform network removals between poles.
• Operate EWP and ladders where required.
• Cut and remove steel messenger and cabling.
• Comply with SWMS, SWI and client procedures.

Role Description

Do you have experience in HFC, aerial telecommunications, or similar field-based infrastructure works and looking for security and long-term employment?

Immediate start opportunities are available for HFC Technicians to support a telecommunications decommissioning program across Victoria. This role is a field-based role and involves the removal of legacy aerial HFC (Hybrid Fibre Coaxial) infrastructure in accordance with client and safety requirements.

Please note: This role is specific to HFC decommissioning works and differs from traditional telecommunications technician or rigging roles.

Your role will include, but not be limited to:

• Removal of aerial HFC network (coaxial cable and steel messenger)
• Network removal between poles
• Operation of EWP and/or ladders where required
• Cutting and removal of steel messenger (approx. 6–12mm) and associated cabling
• Compliance with SWMS, SWI, and client procedures

Skills and Experience Required:

• Previous experience in a similar role
• Drivers Licence
• Work safely at Heights
• OHS General induction white card
• HR Licence advantageous
• Provide first aid and CPR
• Working safely near live electrical apparatus as a non-electrical worker
• Perform Elevated Work Platform Rescue and Controlled Descent Escape
• Provide First Aid in an ESI Environment
• Safe to Climb
