Job summary

Caregiva is seeking Disability Support Workers to join our growing team in the Maryborough & Hervey Bay region. You will support participants in a community-based and supported living setting with daily living tasks, personal care, and social participation, following individual care plans.

The role values excellent people skills, experience in mental health care, and a solid understanding of NDIS requirements. Flexible hours, including weekends, and ongoing training are offered.

Qualifications

• Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends.
• COVID-19 vaccination as per QLD Government requirements.
• Certificate III or Certificate IV in Disability (Required).
• Current CPR and First Aid certificates.
• NDIS Worker Screening Check and Yellow Card where required.
• Valid Australian Driver's Licence.
• Working with Children Blue Card.
• Ability to work 8 hour shifts.
• Experience with psychosocial disabilities and complex behaviours.

Responsibilities

• Assist participants in a supported living environment to live a fulfilling life.
• Provide daily living support, personal care and domestic duties.
• Deliver skill development activities and support participation in the community.
• Assist with medication administration as required by care plans.
• Support participants to engage in social and community activities.

About the Role:

As a Disability Support Worker, you will assist participants in a supported living environment according to their individual needs to help them to live a fulfilling and meaningful life in the community. Your day-to-day tasks will revolve around providing support with daily living, including personal care, domestic duties, various skill development activities, medication administration, and social and community participation.

• Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends, with the potential for working Day Shifts, Evening Shifts, and Sleepovers (Required)
• Full vaccination against COVID-19 in accordance with the QLD Government requirements (Required)
• Certificate III or Certificate IV in Disability or an equivalent qualification completed or in progress (Required)
• Ability to work with Complex Behaviour Participants
• Experience working with Psychosocial disabilities
• Ability to follow the PBSP plan
• Ability to support participants in the Maryborough & Hervey Bay region
• Current CPR Certificate (Required)
• Current First Aid Certificate (Required)
• National Police Check with no convictions (Required)
• Valid Yellow Card / NDIS Worker Screening (Required)
