Job summary

11 Recruitment is recruiting for a Perth-based client to lead the heritage and environment function for a Traditional Owner corporation. You will coordinate heritage survey engagements, build trusted relationships with Traditional Owners, mining companies, government and other stakeholders, and help shape an in-house capability.

You will support a Cultural Heritage Officer and drive systems, processes and governance across heritage matters, with travel to the Pilbara as required.

Qualifications

• A tertiary qualification in archaeology or anthropology is preferred, otherwise relevant qualifications or experience are encouraged.
• Experience working with Traditional Owners and knowledge of native title and heritage legislation.
• Ability to work productively in a mining context and with mining stakeholders.
• People management experience or capability.
• Willingness to travel regularly to the Pilbara.

• Establish relationships with Traditional Owners and build trust across mining and heritage processes.
• Develop productive working relationships with mining companies, government, consultants and other stakeholders.
• Coordinate heritage survey engagements, including planning, logistics and stakeholder communication.
• Contribute to building an in-house heritage and environment function, including systems and processes.
• Support and provide structure to a Cultural Heritage Officer's work.
• Provide structure and support for planning, documentation and processes across heritage matters, aligning systems with the organisation and external providers.
