Biosis is expanding and seeking a Heritage Consultant for a 12-month contract, based at Port Melbourne. This mid-level role suits an Archaeology graduate with 2–3+ years’ experience and an interest in Aboriginal or historical heritage.

You’ll travel, work on diverse projects, and advance your career in a collaborative environment. The role emphasizes fieldwork delivery, report writing, and collaboration with authorities and communities while developing budget-management and client satisfaction

Qualifications

• An archaeology degree (Honours), or a Masters in Archaeology.
• Two-three+ years’ experience.
• Demonstrated interest in Aboriginal and/or historical heritage.
• Relevant work experience in Aboriginal and/or historical heritage (preferred but not essential).
• Ability to work on site, away from home and in remote locations, if necessary.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• A current and valid driver’s licence.
• You must have the right to work in Australia to apply for this job.

Responsabilités

• Develop an understanding of site patterning and artefact survival on Aboriginal and historical sites.
• Lead preparation of Cultural Heritage Management Plans (CHMPs) and heritage statements.
• Lead and contribute to fieldwork projects across Aboriginal and historical projects.
• Develop communication with authorities, communities, clients, landowners, and the public.
• Develop skills in technical report writing and understanding report types.
• Deliver projects on time, within budget and meeting client requirements.
• Understand Biosis’ high standards and apply them.
• Manage project budgets and variations, where required.
