Job summary

Hallam Truck Centre in Melbourne is seeking experienced Heavy Vehicle Technicians to join our workshop service team. You will work on iconic Kenworth and DAF trucks, performing servicing, repairs and diagnostics using the latest tools and manufacturer training to support our busy operation.

Key duties include diagnosing faults, repairing vehicle systems, rebuilding engines or gearboxes, and performing roadworthy inspections while delivering high-quality service.

Qualifications

• Qualified technician with on-highway truck experience.
• Willingness to develop knowledge and skills.
• HR/HC licence preferred but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and perform mechanical repairs and component replacements on chassis and engines.
• Carry out engine, transmission and diff rebuilds.
• Use diagnostic laptops to fault trace and adjust operating parameters.
• Work on hydraulics, PTO, auto electrical and fabrication tasks.
• Provide roadside assistance and VicRoads roadworthy inspections.
• Support pre-delivery and PACCAR factory activities.
• Contribute to delivering over 250 trucks.
• Afternoon shift duties and team collaboration.

About the Role

Hallam Truck Centre are seeking experienced Heavy Vehicle Technicians to join their workshop service team!

As a Heavy Vehicle Technician, you'll work on the iconic Kenworth and DAF truck brands, carrying out servicing, repairs and diagnostics using the latest tools, technology and manufacturer training. • Vehicle diagnosis leading tomechanical repairs and component replacement onchassis' and engines
• Learn through daily variety of repairs
• Engine, transmission and diff. full rebuilds
• Use of diagnostic laptops to fault trace and adjust operating parameters

• Auto electrical and fabrication work

• Help the team deliver in excess of 250 trucks!

Who you are:

• A qualified technician with experience working on on-highway trucks or aligned equipment such as power gen / heavy plantequipment will also be considered
• A reliable and punctual team player with a good attitude and willingness to develop your knowledge and expertise
• A "can do"/ motivated team player
• Ideally youhave a current HR/HC drivers’ licencepreferred but not essential
• Previous training on Cummins and experience with American or European engines and drivelines will be highly regarded
