Job summary

National Heavy Vehicle Regulator (NHVR) in Dubbo is seeking a Safety & Compliance Officer to perform frontline compliance and enforcement activities, including inspections of heavy and light vehicles, in line with legislation and policies. The role offers autonomy within a defined work plan and escalation to a Principal for higher issues.

Based in Dubbo, you will work on HVIS and HVSS activities with occasional On Road Enforcement tasks.

• Great written communication and record maintenance skills.
• Experience with Microsoft Word and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with road transport laws through education and enforcement.
• Apply sanctions including warnings and penalty notices.
• Use compliance tools to record inspections and checks.
• Deliver thorough inspections with equipment and IT.
• Engage with drivers in positive, safety-focused interactions.
• Stay updated on evolving laws and procedures.
