Job summary

NHVR in Australia is seeking a Safety and Compliance Officer based in Dubbo to perform frontline enforcement of road transport laws, conduct HVIS/HVSS inspections, and support education and compliance actions.

You will travel regularly, work varying shifts including weekends, complete comprehensive training on joining, and contribute to a safe, efficient heavy-vehicle regulatory environment.

Qualifications

• Automotive trade qualification required.
• Open driver’s license required.
• Willingness to travel regularly and work varying shifts, including weekends.
• Demonstrated experience delivering high standards of customer service.
• Excellent written communication and record-keeping skills.
• Commitment to road safety and professional judgement.

Responsibilities

• Undertake compliance inspections of heavy vehicles and related enforcement activities.
• Apply sanctions via warnings, notices, breach and investigation reports.
• Record vehicle intercepts and inspections using inspection tools and software.
• Deliver high quality inspections using inspection equipment and IT applications.
• Engage with drivers professionally to promote road safety and customer service.
• Maintain current knowledge of laws, regulations and operational procedures.
