Job summary

Dubbo Regional Council invites applications for a Heavy Vehicle and Plant Mechanic in the Fleet & Depot Services team. You’ll diagnose, service and repair heavy vehicles across the Dubbo region with autonomy and support for apprentices.

Enjoy a 9-day fortnight, 7:00am–4:00pm hours and home every night in a modern, air-conditioned workshop, with ongoing training and development and a strong community impact across Dubbo and Wellington.

Qualifications

• Recognised trades qualification in heavy vehicle/plant or light vehicle with heavy vehicle experience.
• Post-trade servicing, fault diagnosis, troubleshooting and repair of heavy vehicles and/or mobile plant.
• Ability to use workshop computer systems and diagnostic tools.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, service and repair Council's fleet of heavy vehicles, mobile plant and equipment.
• Work autonomously across various locations and supervise apprentices.
• Maintain high workmanship standards and effective communication across the organisation.
