Spinifex Recruiting is seeking qualified Light Vehicle, Heavy Vehicle and/or Diesel Mechanics for opportunities within Local Council operations across the Tweed Shire region. These roles offer a 9-day fortnight, a brand-new workshop, and a diverse fleet of vehicles to work on, with a supportive team and potential long-term opportunities.

Light Vehicle mechanics will be keen to learn across heavy vehicles, plant and equipment, with a focus on servicing, diagnostics and safety.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification as a Light Vehicle, Heavy Vehicle or Diesel Mechanic.
• Experience servicing and repairing vehicles, plant or machinery.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Commitment to workplace health and safety.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Willingness to learn across heavy vehicles, plant and equipment.
• White Card or willingness to obtain one.
• HR Licence highly regarded but not essential.

Responsabilités

• Servicing, maintaining and repairing a varied fleet of vehicles, plant and machinery.
• Diagnosing mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults.
• Carrying out preventative maintenance and safety inspections.
• Completing repairs in line with council procedures and safety standards.
• Working collaboratively within a workshop team.
