Job summary

Ipswich City Council is seeking a Heavy Vehicle Operator to contribute to the Capital Delivery Team, operating a range of heavy vehicles and plant across key community projects in Ipswich. You will support construction, maintenance and improvement works with a focus on safety and efficiency.

The role requires a current HR class licence, experience in heavy vehicle operation, and a Certificate 3 in Civil Construction or relevant knowledge.

Qualifications

• Experience operating heavy vehicles and plant equipment.
• Current HR Class Driver’s Licence is required.
• General Safety Induction (Construction Industry) card is required.
• Certificate 3 in Civil Construction or knowledge/experience is highly desirable.

We're looking for a capable Heavy Vehicle Operator who takes pride in operating their equipment safely, efficiently and to a high standard to join our Capital Delivery Team. You will operate a range of heavy vehicles and plant equipment contributing to the construction, maintenance, and improvement of vital community infrastructure projects across the city.

Some of your key responsibilities will include:

• Operate plant and equipment such as water truck and tandem tippers
• Ensure all machinery and equipment are maintained
• Follow safety standards when loading, unloading and operating loaded vehicles
• Prepare and apply materials efficiently and safely

About You

To be successful in this role you will have:

• Current HR Class Driver’s Licence
• Previous experience working in heavy vehicle operation
• General Safety Induction (Construction Industry) card
• Certificate 3 in Civil Construction or construction knowledge and experience is highly desirable
• Be self-sufficient and able to work under minimal supervision
• The ability to work in line with our values of safety and wellbeing, communication, collaboration, integrity, efficiency and leadership

This is a full-time permanent position with a salary commencing from $73,860 plus 12.5% superannuation.
