Job summary

Coolway Trans is seeking a qualified Heavy Vehicle Diesel Mechanic to join our maintenance team in a well-established family business focused on refrigerated transport. The role involves servicing and repairing a fleet of rigid trucks, trailers, dollies and prime movers with opportunities for offsite and breakdown repairs.

We offer an immediate start, Monday to Friday shifts, and permanent employment from day one with above-award wages.

Qualifications

• Experience as Heavy Vehicle Diesel Mechanic in refrigerated fleet environments is preferred.
• Strong diagnostic and repair capabilities for electrical faults and heavy vehicles.
• Ability to perform preventative maintenance and scheduled servicing on trucks and trailers.

Responsibilities

• Service and repair our refrigerated fleet including rigid trucks and trailers.
• Diagnose and repair electrical faults and other mechanical issues.
• Perform scheduled maintenance and preventative servicing on vehicles.
• Remove and fit tyres and manage wheel/tyre repairs.
• Manage offsite and breakdown repairs as required.

About the Role:

As a Heavy Vehicle Diesel Mechanic at Coolway Trans, you will play a crucial role in servicing and repairing our fleet of refrigerated vehicles, including rigid trucks, trailers, dollies and prime movers.

• Steering and Suspension repairs
• Electrical faults, diagnosis and repairs
• Preventative maintenance and repairs
• Scheduled truck & trailer servicing
• Removing and fitting tyres
• Offsite and breakdown repairs

• Heavy Vehicle Diesel Mechanic qualifications or Minimum 4th year apprentice
• Previous experience working with refrigerated fleets desirable
