Job summary

Lake Macquarie City Council in Boolaroo NSW is seeking an experienced Heavy Vehicle Mechanic to join our Workshop Team. You will service and repair our diverse fleet and plant, ensuring safety, reliability and compliance with NSW requirements.

Based in our Boolaroo Depot, you will use the latest diagnostic tools, supervise apprentices, and contribute to safety and quality through proactive maintenance and timely repairs.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical trade.
• Automotive air conditioning experience or related qualification.
• Current HR driver's licence and RMS vehicle examiner cert desirable.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair Council's fleet and plant to safety standards.
• Perform scheduled and reactive servicing, repairs and inspections.
• Supervise apprentices, mentor staff and report faults for improvements.
• Ensure compliance with NHVAS, NSW requirements and Council processes.
• Use diagnostic tools and CMMS where applicable.
