Job summary

Ventia is seeking Heavy Vehicle Mechanics for Robertson Barracks, Darwin NT, to perform routine maintenance and repairs on a wide range of heavy military vehicles, including 4WDs, trucks and armoured vehicles. This full-time role offers 38 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with the opportunity to knock off early on Fridays.

As an Australian Defence Force partner, you will work with new equipment and support the Defence program while adhering to regulatory requirements and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Cert III Heavy Vehicle Mechanic or equivalent (mandatory).
• Experience with heavy commercial vehicles is required.
• Ability to inspect, repair and maintain light, medium and heavy vehicles to a medium level.
• MR/HR/HC licence desirable.
• Australian citizenship and ability to obtain Defence Security Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Maintenance tasks including inspection, diagnostics, and repairs on light, medium and heavy vehicles and plant equipment.
• Complete service tasks during routine maintenance.
• Replace or repair damaged parts following inspections and diagnose problems on a wide range of vehicles.
• Adhere to regulatory and contract-specific requirements.

About The Role

Due to continued growth, we are looking for Heavy Vehicle Mechanics at Robertson Barracks, Darwin NT, you will conduct routine maintenance and repairs on a wide range of heavy military vehicles, including 4WD's, trucks, plant equipment and armoured vehicles! Key Responsibilities

• Maintenance tasks including inspection, classification, diagnostics, and repairs on Light, Medium and Heavy Vehicles and Plant Equipment
• Completing service tasks on equipment during routine maintenance
• Replace or repair damaged and malfunctioning parts following inspections and effectively diagnose problems and perform work of a technical nature on a wide range of vehicles
• You will adhere to all regulatory and contract-specific requirements

Key Skills & Attributes Include

• Cert III Heavy Vehicle Mechanic or equivalent level - Mandatory
• Demonstrated experience on Heavy commercial vehicles - Required
• Demonstrated ability and practical experience to inspect, repair and maintain Light, Medium and/or Heavy vehicle to a medium level of repair
• Possess a MR, HR or HC licence - Desirable
• You must be an Australian citizen and able to maintain a Defence Security Clearance.
