Job summary

Thales in Darwin is seeking a trade-qualified Heavy Vehicle Mechanic to service and repair protected mobility vehicles on a scheduled basis, supported by a skilled team and defined quality standards. You will work at our Winnellie site, with opportunities for further training and development, under strong leadership and a culture that prioritises safety and quality workmanship.

Qualifications

• Trade-qualified Heavy Vehicle Mechanic with relevant qualifications.
• Experience diagnosing and repairing mechanical/technical issues.
• Strong attention to detail and safety awareness.

Responsibilities

• Servicing and repairing allocated vehicles to schedule and defined quality standards.
• Deliver commitments and ensure ongoing customer satisfaction.
• Mentor upcoming trade professionals and contribute to future team capability.

Working at our Darwin (Winnellie) site, on Larrakia Land, your exciting new career opportunity will see you:

• Working as part of a wider team of trade professionals to carry out servicing and repairs to allocated vehicles that supports an agreed schedule and to defined Quality defined standards and related specifications.

• Help deliver our commitments and ensure ongoing customer satisfaction.

• Mentoring upcoming trade professionals as you play a significant role in future team capability.

• Role modelling all things safety and proactively highlight potential risks within a culture focused on people.

YOUR EXPERIENCE

• Relevant trade qualifications (Heavy Vehicle or similar) coupled with a strong trades background.

• Experience in diagnosis, fault finding and fixing mechanical and technical issues with a passion for quality work.

• Strong technical knowledge, mechanical aptitude and a proven ability to follow set processes.

• Team player and natural problem solver with a high attention to detail in everything you do.
