Job summary

Thales Group in Darwin is seeking a trade-qualified Heavy Vehicle Mechanic for a long-term, hands-on role at the Winnellie site. You will service and repair allocated vehicles to strict quality standards and schedules, working with a supportive team that emphasises safety and continuous improvement.

You will have access to training, development opportunities and a path to extend your trade capabilities, with clear expectations and a culture focused on people.

Qualifications

• Qualified heavy vehicle mechanic with relevant trade credentials.
• Experience diagnosing and repairing mechanical/technical issues.
• Strong adherence to safety and quality standards.

Working at our Darwin (Winnellie) site, on Larrakia Land

• Working as part of a wider team of trade professionals to carry out servicing and repairs to allocated vehicles that supports an agreed schedule and to defined Quality defined standards and related specifications.
• Help deliver our commitments and ensure ongoing customer satisfaction.
• Mentoring upcoming trade professionals as you play a significant role in future team capability.
• Role modelling all things safety and proactively highlight potential risks within a culture focused on people.

YOUR EXPERIENCE

• Relevant trade qualifications (Heavy Vehicle or similar) coupled with a strong trades background.
• Experience in diagnosis, fault finding and fixing mechanical and technical issues with a passion for quality work.
• Strong technical knowledge, mechanical aptitude and a proven ability to follow set processes.
• Team player and natural problem solver with a high attention to detail in everything you do.

AUSTRALIAN DEFENCE ROLES & SECURITY

A Defence security clearance is required for this role, applicants must be Australian citizens and eligible to obtain and maintain an appropriate clearance.
