Job summary

A leading global engineering firm based in Queensland is seeking a 4th year apprentice Heavy Vehicle Mechanic or trade qualified Heavy Vehicle Mechanic. As part of our VTS business, our PRV team is primarily focused on the design, manufacture, delivery and support of protected mobility vehicles on a global scale. Your Role

Our trades team is growing and we’re hiring 4th year apprentice Heavy Vehicle Mechanics or trade qualified Heavy Vehicle Mechanics to join us. Supported by leaders, driven by a strong team culture and backed up with all the resources to succeed, you will enjoy a long‑term position that will both reward and challenge you. With options for further training, ongoing development and future options that are available outside of your chosen trade, this is a career opportunity that ticks all the boxes.

Responsibilities
  • Work as part of a wider team of trade professionals to carry out servicing and repairs to allocated vehicles that supports an agreed schedule and defined quality standards and specifications.
  • Collaborate with the wider team such as team leaders, maintenance planners, project managers, logistics, HSE and other leaders as we deliver against our commitments and ensure ongoing customer satisfaction.
  • Mentor upcoming trade professionals as you play a significant role in future team capability.
  • Role‑model all things safety and proactively highlight potential risks within a culture focused on people.
Your Experience
  • Year 4 Apprentice in Heavy Vehicle Mechanics who is willing to transfer over to our company or Trade Qualified Heavy Vehicle Mechanic.
  • Experience in diagnosis, fault finding and fixing mechanical and technical issues with a passion for quality work.
  • Strong technical knowledge, mechanical aptitude and a proven ability to follow set processes.
  • Team player and natural problem solver with a high attention to detail in everything you do.
