Job summary

Glencore’s Hail Creek operation seeks a Maintainer Mechanical (HME Breakdown Fitter) to sustain the heavy mobile equipment fleet. You will perform preventative, corrective and breakdown maintenance on haul trucks, excavators, dozers and loaders, ensuring safe and efficient operation to support production targets.

You will diagnose faults, perform repairs, and work with a multidisciplinary team to reduce downtime while upholding site procedures and manufacturer specs.

Qualifications

• A recognised Diesel Fitting Trade Qualification.
• A current Australian driver's licence.
• Proven experience maintaining and repairing heavy mobile equipment within a mining or heavy industry environment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude, fault-finding and diagnostic skills, with sound knowledge of hydraulic and diesel systems.
• A strong commitment to workplace health and safety, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Excellent attention to detail and a proactive approach to equipment reliability and maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the reliability, availability and performance of HME fleet through preventative, corrective and breakdown maintenance.
• Diagnose mechanical faults, carry out repairs and inspections across heavy mobile equipment.
• Work collaboratively with the maintenance team including electricians and boilermakers to minimise downtime.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and maintenance practices.
