Labourforce is seeking an experienced Heavy Industrial Maintenance Fitter for a permanent full-time role based in Pinelands, Darwin. You will join the Morning Shift team onsite, ensuring reliable operation and ongoing upkeep of heavy machinery with support during shutdowns.

The position offers 7:30 AM–4 PM, occasional Saturdays, 55 AUD per hour plus overtime, a company vehicle, fuel card and phone. A recognised Fitter qualification with hydraulics/pneumatics experience is essential.

Qualifications

• Trade-qualified Fitter (mechanical) with Australian recognition.
• Experience in heavy mobile and fixed plant maintenance.
• Mining experience desirable but not essential.
• Able to read technical drawings and interpret specs.
• Experience with hydraulics and pneumatics is essential.
• Willing to work overtime and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Test, inspect and diagnose plant faults and perform maintenance.
• Complete planned and reactive maintenance and shutdown work.
• Install/repair equipment with hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Ensure safety and reliability of equipment and processes.

Job Description:

We are currently seeking an experienced Heavy Industrial Maintenance Fitter to join our Morning Shift team based in Pinelands, Darwin.

As a vital member of the Maintenance Team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation, reliability, and ongoing upkeep of heavy industrial machinery and equipment. This position will predominantly see you working as the primary onsite Fitter, with full support and resources provided during shutdowns and major works.

• Permanent Full time position
• Mon - Fri 7:30AM - 4PM - Saturdays -Work Available as required
• Hourly rate $55 Per hour + Overtime
• Company Vehicle + Fuel Card + Company Phone

• Must be able to work Saturdays as required

Duties:

Responsible for prompt action and close out of safety issues affecting the workplace; test, inspect and diagnose plant and equipment faults; perform planned maintenance, reactive breakdown maintenance and shutdown work across area; install and repair equipment associated with hydraulic and pneumatic systems; work towards improving equipment reliability and field service work.

Skills and Abilities Required For this position :

• Proven experience in managing maintenance related work within the trade discipline.
• Sound Experience with Mobile Plant and Fixed plant Machinery
• Sound understanding of safe working practices and their application in a maintenance service work environment.
• Analytical and problem solving skills, the capacity to prioritize work and maintain attention to detail and meet deadlines and KPI's
• Familiarization of Australian Standards, Codes of Practice and legislation pertaining to property maintenance / facilities management industry.
• Demonstrated capacity to understand and interpret operating specifications, plans and plant and equipment servicing standards.
• Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team and have a help out when required attitude.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to consult, problem solve and dispute resolution.
• Excellent time management skills and possess the ability to coordinate multiple tasks in deadline driven, fast paced environment.

To be considered for this role, applicants will possess the following:

• Australian Recognised Trade Qualifications as a Fitter (mechanical) required
• Previous experience working on heavy mobile and fixed plant maintenance including loaders, excavators, crushers, Screens, Shredders ,mills and conveyor systems.
• Mining experience desirable but not essential
• experience with MIG ,& STICK welding
• Experience with Hydraulics and Pneumatics a MUST
• Current Forklift License, Elevated Work Platform Ticket would be an advantage but not essential
• Able to read technical drawings
• Experience with moving ,replacing and fitting Motors
• Have the ability to work overtime and weekends
• Be dedicated to safe working practices
• Be able to commence ASAP!!!!
• Have own reliable transportation
• Have all required PPE safety equipment
• Ability to work in a team environment
